Our vision
Every child is born with an innate desire and capacity to learn, a strong natural drive towards independence and many other significant, human developmental tendencies. These natural drives allow the child to grow into a whole human being. It is the child who makes the adult!
Our aim is to nurture this inner drive to assert and extend oneself physically, cognitively and socially, by offering children the freedom and space to work in a prepared, multi-sensory environment, which fully responds to their developmental needs and expresses our deep respect and faith in children’s ability to build their own, unique personalities and intellects.
Our vision is of empowered, well-rounded, caring individuals, with the necessary skills and values in place, to guide them through their personal lives and to help them make a difference in their communities.
Our mission and values
-
Following the child’s lead
Every child presents us with an opportunity to observe, explore another human being and come to know them; freely, detached from any conviction or judgement.
We follow the child’s lead.
We strongly believe that a nurturing learning atmosphere that fosters freedom of choice, self-expression and respect for the community, where the child becomes a self-directed learner and honors others’ space and rights, will allow for a well-rounded personality to slowly reveal itself.
-
Respecting individuality
Respect for each child’s individuality is at the heart of our mindset.
Our primary goal is to get to know each child’s unique features and qualities so as to provide the appropriate space and stimuli for these to flourish.
Learning is, for us, a personal experience.
-
The unparalleled role of our Guides1
Our team of highly-trained individuals, is focused daily on their inner-growth and the development of their awareness, so as to successfully fulfil their role as Montessori Guides within a dynamic learning environment that fosters independence, freedom of choice, respect to others, boundaries and community values.
They have a profound understanding of children’s developmental needs and of the inner-strength and humility required to successfully cater to those needs.
In our learning environments, we are mindful that all adults surrounding the young child, serve as models of positive behavior, respect for others and responsibility. We inherently provide children with guidance via personal encouragement and foster positive social interactions.
-
Valuing our community
The child’s family is our partner. As parents and educators, we are joined by our shared, sincere love for the child.
We strongly believe that working together with families, will ultimately enhance a young child’s learning and development.
[1] Guide: The trained adult in a Montessori environment is called a “guide,” as opposed to a “teacher,” because his/her role is not to impart knowledge but to prepare the environment, introduce the activities in the environment based on each child’s interest and to endorse the freedom, the limits and values that define a Montessori learning environment
